TEACHERS! PRINCIPALS! ADMINISTRATORS!

The Hypothetical Theatre Company has extensive experience creating and producing educational outreach programs that have reached many thousands of people. We know the programming you bring into your classrooms and assemblies does not occur in a vacuum. Many of us are educators and teachers as well as professional actors, so we feel it is vitally important that our shows be placed in context.

Ellis Island Stories 1992-2000

When you book a Hypothetical Theatre Company Educational show, we will send a curriculum packet in advance of our arrival which includes suggested lesson plan/discussion topics and classroom activities appropriate to the grade level. (As per New York Artistic Standards and Curriculum Guidelines, 2000)

Our core offering centers around Ellis Island Stories, written and directed by HTC founder Amy Feinberg. Ellis Island Stories was a favorite at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum for eight years and is based on oral histories of immigrants who actually passed through Ellis Island between 1892 and 1924. The show has toured public and private schools each year since 1992, and is the cornerstone of our educational theatre repertoire. Ellis Island Stories tours elementary and secondary schools throughout New York and the surrounding area, and is direct curriculum support for history and social science teaching.

Over time, experience has guided us to create multiple packages to augment Ellis Island Stories. We also provide other offerings beyond Ellis Island Stories, to suit your specific needs.
